Zoë Rogers '19 Memorial Fund

Zoë's time at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School was marked by meaningful engagement and outstanding accomplishments. Zoë served as co-president of the Diversity Club and was a dedicated member of GMA TV. On the field, she excelled as a decorated captain and goalkeeper for the field hockey team, earning recognition with the Academy's John F. Meehan Award for her exemplary leadership and sportsmanship. Her passion for field hockey also extended beyond GMAHS, as she played locally for Mayhem, the Main Line Field Hockey Club.

Following her high school graduation, Zoë continued her education and field hockey journey at UC Berkeley, where she competed at the Division I level. Additionally, she took on the role of Community Service Coordinator for the Black Student-Athlete Committee during her time at UC Berkeley.

In 2020, due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Zoë returned home from college and chose to dedicate her time as an Assistant Coach for Gwynedd’s Field Hockey team, demonstrating her continued commitment to the sport and her school community.

Beyond her school and athletic involvement, Zoë was also actively engaged in making a difference by serving on the board of CommonBondz, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to addressing issues of racism and bias against African Americans, further illustrating her dedication to promoting social change and equality.

 

Join us on Thursday, October 5, 2023, for the inaugural Zoë Rogers '19 Mercy Memorial Field Hockey Game at the Gwynedd Mercy Turf Field. Our opponent will be our sister school, Merion Mercy Academy. Pre-game activities are scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM, and the Varsity Game will begin promptly at 4:00 PM.

In addition to showing your support for our Monarchs, we invite you to attend the game to commemorate Zoë's memory. There will be various activities available, including learning about Zoë's impact on our community, crafting bracelets to express support for her legacy and mental health awareness, and participating in raffles and the chance to win prizes while contributing to a range of fundraising opportunities for the Zoë Rogers ‘19 Memorial Fund. Your presence alone will symbolize love, strength, support, and mercy. We look forward to seeing you on the October 5th!

 

We are pleased to announce that CommonBondz, a local not-for-profit organization that educates the community on the drivers of racism and bias towards the African American community, has pledged a dollar-for-dollar matching gift of $5,000 in support of the Zoë Rogers ’19 Memorial Fund. After graduating from Gwynedd, Zoë served on the CommonBondz Board of Directors.
